Nintendo Has Announced A New Legend of Zelda Title

New 3DS Zelda

New Legend of Zelda for 3DS

Nintendo has announced a new Legend of Zelda game coming to the 3DS. The new title will take place in the same Hyrule as 1992’s Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the Super Nintendo. A Link to the Past is praised as being one of the best games in the series.

The announcement, along with a gameplay trailer, was given during today’s Nintendo Direct. The gameplay video featured the new gameplay gimmick, which is different for each Legend of Zelda title. While link will have a number of familiar items and abilities, his interesting new power allows him to become a drawing of himself on walls. This will allow him to solve multiple puzzles by accessing areas that would be otherwise unreachable (Looks like a heck of a lot of fun to me).

No official title has been given to this addition to the Zelda series as of yet. What we do know is that while it is set in the same game world as A Link to the Past, it will feature entirely new dungeons and will be utilizing the 3D capabilities of the 3DS to focus on height differences in these dungeons. This means that we will have a ton of multi-story areas with unique puzzles and traps. This will probably make for some interesting boss encounters as well.

We will most likely receive much more news on the title in the near future. One thing we can be sure about is that the game will be purchasable this holiday season. This is a game that is definitely going to be on quite a number of Christmas lists.
