Some positive news for Final Fantasy fans has surfaced from Square Enix. The company has apparently decided a definite date to announce details about the Final Fantasy Versus XIII title that fans (If they haven’t died of old age) have waited on.
Appearing as a guest on Square Enix Radio (and thankfully translated by Gematsu), famed Final Fantasy director, Tetsuya Nomura, gave a very nice answer to a direct question about Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
“Even within the company it’s a very delicate problem. The date when we can concretely lift the ban has been decided and we are preparing for that moment. Maybe the details as to why information couldn’t be released might be touched upon at the next information announcement. I’m sorry it’s already overdue, but please wait just a little more.”
Nomura’s announcement about the ban being lifted seems to be awfully good timing for a certain upcoming gaming event. Fans might finally get their wish of seeing more Versus XIII information at this year’s E3. They have been waiting for this game since it was announced way back in 2006 and definitely deserve to at least see a pretty new cutscene or hear a direct answer about the title’s status for their loyalty.
I for one am mostly hoping to hear their excuse for hiding such a massively desired game from the public eye for so long. I doubt we will hear the true reason but it will be entertaining none the less. Waiting seven years for a game can make a gamer rather bitter and the title has no excuse for not being polished to a perfect shine in both its graphics and gameplay. Hoping this won’t end up being the Duke Nukem Forever of Final Fantasy titles.
We will be sure to keep you updated if any more Versus XIII news shows its slow creeping head. Please comment below with your thoughts on Nomura’s announcement or your opinion on this long-awaited title.
